Francisco J. Pino

 
 

I am an Associate Professor of Economics in the School of Economics and Business at the University of Chile. I am also a research affiliate at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA), and currently serve on the Executive Committee of LACEA (2026-2029).


My fields of interest are Political Economy, Economic History and Economics of Gender. I also have interest and experience in Development Economics and Public Economics. My current research is focused on understanding the impact of political institutions on economic as well as political outcomes, particularly in the context of under-represented groups. I consider institutions in a broad sense, ranging from electoral systems to land and social security reforms.
